My ZZ plant has been sitting in the corner of my living room for two years doing absolutely nothing, which I guess is kind of the point. I finally moved it closer to a window last month and the new growth has been noticeably faster. Still the slowest grower I own, but it's good to know it actually responds to better light instead of just surviving in the dark. Pretty forgiving though—I'd recommend it to anyone who wants something that won't guilt them for neglect.
