My ZZ plant has been sitting in the same corner for two years, and I finally decided to move it closer to a window last month. The difference in how full and green it's gotten is honestly shocking. I always thought they were just these tough, low-light survivors you could ignore, and they are, but they really do appreciate a bit more light if you can give it to them. Mine's thriving now and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner.
