My ZZ plant has been thriving on pure neglect for two years now, which honestly feels like cheating. I water it maybe once a month and it lives in a corner with indirect light, yet somehow it keeps putting out these gorgeous new leaflets. I think I finally understand why people recommend it for beginners—it's genuinely hard to kill. The only thing I learned the hard way is that overwatering will do it in, so I've trained myself to let the soil dry out completely between waterings.
