Notes on my Peace Lily

Just realized my peace lily has been drooping way less since I moved it away from the direct afternoon sun—it's getting bright indirect light now instead and honestly it's thriving. I kept thinking it needed more light, but turns out that was making it stressed. Has anyone else found peace lilies are pickier about direct sun than people say? I'd love to know if this is just my mediterranean heat being intense or if I was just wrong about what it actually wanted.
