Notes on my Peace Lily

I've had my Spathiphyllum wallisii for about eight months now, and I'm finally figuring out why it kept drooping dramatically every few days. Turns out I was overwatering it—I thought the dramatic wilting meant it was thirsty, but it actually prefers to dry out between waterings, even though most care guides say it's forgiving. Mine seems much happier with a lighter hand, and the new growth looks healthier. Has anyone else found theirs is pickier about moisture than people say?
