Notes on my Peace Lily

I've had my Spathiphyllum wallisii for three years now, and I only recently realized it actually prefers being slightly neglected—mine thrives on an east-facing shelf where I forget about it for weeks. The moment I tried moving it to a "brighter" spot and watering on a strict schedule, it got droopy and started dropping leaves. Back to its original corner, and within a month it was flowering again. Anyone else find that their peace lilies punish perfectionism?
