Notes on my Pothos

I've had my Epipremnum aureum for about eight months now and it's finally starting to trail nicely, but I'm genuinely confused about watering. I let it dry out between waterings like most guides say, but the lower leaves keep yellowing anyway. Is that normal for pothos, or am I overwatering despite thinking I'm not? I have a photo on my phone that shows what I mean—the new growth looks healthy at least. Any tips from people with more experience?
