Notes on my Pothos

I've had my Epipremnum aureum trailing down a shelf for about eight months now, and I'm finally seeing some decent growth in my cold apartment. I've been nervous about watering it too much—I've read conflicting advice—but it seems happiest when I let the top inch dry out between waterings. Does anyone else struggle with overwatering this one, or am I overthinking it? I'd love to know what works for others in cooler climates.
