Notes on my Pothos

I've had my pothos for about two years now and it's finally trailing beautifully, but I'm realizing I might have been overwatering it the whole time. The leaves look healthy enough, but I noticed the stems are getting a bit soft at the base. Has anyone else struggled with this? I'm nervous about pulling back on water since it's doing so well otherwise, but I don't want to accidentally kill it. Any advice would be really helpful.
