Notes on my Snake Plant

My Sansevieria trifasciata finally pushed out a new leaf after months of nothing, and I'm wondering if it's because I finally stopped fussing with it. I moved it to a bright corner and basically ignored it, and that's when it took off. I know they're supposed to be bulletproof, but mine definitely prefers neglect over attention. Does anyone else find their snake plants actually slow down when you water them regularly?
