Notes on my Snake Plant

I've had my Sansevieria trifasciata for years and finally figured out why it kept getting soft at the base—I was watering on a schedule instead of waiting for the soil to fully dry. Now I only water every three weeks or so, and it's thriving. The thick rhizomes really do need that dormancy period. Has anyone else struggled with overwatering these, or am I just slow to learn?
