Notes on my Snake Plant

I've had my snake plant for ages and thought I was doing it right with minimal watering, but I recently realized I was maybe being *too* hands-off. It's been sitting in the same spot for over a year with no new growth. I moved it closer to a bright window last month and now I'm seeing fresh shoots coming up. Has anyone else had this experience? I'm curious if mine was just bored or if I was genuinely underestimating how much light they actually want.
