Notes on my Snake Plant

I've had my Sansevieria trifasciata for three years now, and I finally figured out why the lower leaves were yellowing—I was watering it far too often. These plants really do prefer neglect in the tropics, which felt counterintuitive to me at first. Since I switched to watering only when the soil is completely dry, it's thriving and even pushed out a new leaf last month. Has anyone else struggled with overwatering theirs?
