Notes on my Snake Plant

I've had my Sansevieria trifasciata in a corner of my living room for three years now, and it's finally putting out a flower spike—which apparently means I'm doing something right by mostly ignoring it. I was surprised to learn they actually bloom indoors if the conditions are just right, though I can't claim credit for discovering what makes that happen. Has anyone else's snake plant flowered? I'd love to know if it's common or if I just got lucky with mine.
