Notes on my Snake Plant

I've had my Sansevieria trifasciata for about six months now and I'm still not sure if I'm watering it right—does anyone else struggle with this? I've read it prefers to dry out completely between waterings, but I keep second-guessing myself. Right now it looks healthy and upright, which is good, but I'd love to hear how often you're actually watering yours. I'm keeping it in bright indirect light and it seems happy so far.
