Notes on my Snake Plant

My snake plant has been absolutely thriving since I stopped fussing with it, which feels embarrassing to admit after years of thinking I knew what I was doing. I moved it away from the window last winter because it looked a bit pale, and honestly? Best decision. Now it's putting out new leaves like crazy and the variegation is so much more pronounced. Has anyone else found theirs actually prefers lower light than the usual advice suggests? I'm curious if it's a mediterranean climate thing or just my plant being stubborn.
