Notes on my Snake Plant

I finally figured out why my snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) was getting soft spots at the base—I was watering it on a schedule instead of checking the soil first. Now I wait until the pot is genuinely light and the soil is completely dry, and it's doing so much better. I'm still learning the rhythm, but I think the key was respecting how drought-tolerant it actually is. Has anyone else struggled with overwatering these, or am I just late to the party?
