Notes on my Swiss Cheese Plant

I've had my Monstera for about eight months now and it's finally putting out a leaf with proper fenestration—I was starting to wonder if I was doing something wrong. I keep it near a bright window but not in direct sun, which seems to be the sweet spot here in the Mediterranean. The growth has been slower than I expected from what I'd read online, but I'm learning that patience really does pay off. Has anyone else had their Monstera take its time before showing those characteristic holes?
