Notes on my Swiss Cheese Plant

I've had my Monstera deliciosa for about eight months now, and I'm finally starting to see those iconic fenestrations on the newer leaves—it's so satisfying! I was worried I wasn't giving it enough light, but moving it closer to my east-facing window really seemed to help. Has anyone else noticed their fenestrations take forever to develop, or was mine just being stubborn? Also, I'm still figuring out the watering schedule. The soil dries out pretty fast in my apartment, so I'm checking it every few days. Any tips on finding that sweet spot?
