Notes on my Swiss Cheese Plant

I've had my Monstera deliciosa for three years now and it's finally starting to fenestrate consistently, but I'm wondering if I'm overwatering. The soil dries slower in winter than I'd expect for an arid-adapted grower like me, and I'm resisting the urge to let it get bone dry. Anyone else found a sweet spot between keeping the petioles happy and avoiding root rot? I'm thinking of repotting into a chunkier mix next season.
