Notes on my Swiss Cheese Plant

I've had my Monstera deliciosa for about eight months now and the fenestration is finally starting to show on the new leaves—though I'm still not entirely sure if I'm giving it enough light or just got lucky. I keep reading conflicting advice about whether it needs a moss pole or if I'm overthinking it. Has anyone else found that their Monstera grows fenestrated leaves more reliably at a certain distance from the window, or is it mostly genetics?
