Notes on my Swiss Cheese Plant

My Monstera finally put out a leaf with actual fenestration after months of just plain ones, and I'm probably more excited about it than I should be. I've learned the hard way that mine really needs bright, indirect light to get those signature holes—when I kept it in a shadier corner, it just gave up. Now it's right by an east-facing window and honestly thriving. Has anyone else found their Monstera to be particular about light, or did mine just take a while to settle in?
