Notes on my Swiss Cheese Plant

I've had my Monstera deliciosa for about eight months now and I'm still figuring out the watering schedule—I keep second-guessing myself on whether the soil is actually dry enough. The fenestration is finally starting to show on the newer leaves, which is exciting! I took a photo of it this morning and the light was hitting the splits just right. Does anyone else struggle with the watering, or is it just me overthinking it? I'm keeping it in indirect bright light near an east-facing window in my tropical setup.
