Notes on my Swiss Cheese Plant

I've had my Monstera deliciosa for three years now, and I'm finally seeing consistent fenestration on the new leaves—it took longer than I expected, but the patience was worth it. I keep it in bright indirect light near an east-facing window, and I've noticed it really responds well to slightly drier spells between waterings. Has anyone else found that their M. deliciosa took a while to develop those characteristic splits, or did yours start fenestrating earlier in its growth?
