Notes on my ZZ Plant

I've had my ZZ plant for three years now and finally figured out why the older leaflets were yellowing—I was watering on a schedule instead of checking the soil first. Zamioculcas zamiifolia really does store water in those rhizomes, so in my dry climate it needs way less than I thought. Now I let it dry out almost completely between waterings and it's thriving. If you're in an arid region like me, this plant is genuinely low-maintenance once you accept that "neglect" is actually the right approach.
