Notes on my ZZ Plant

I've had my ZZ plant for about four months now and I'm finally seeing new leaflets unfurling on the lower stems—I was honestly worried I'd killed it with overwatering at first. I read that Zamioculcas zamiifolia stores water in those rhizomes, so I switched to watering only when the soil felt completely dry. Has anyone else struggled with the watering balance? I'm still figuring out if my tropical humidity helps or if I should actually be more cautious since it stays pretty moist here.
