Notes on my ZZ Plant

Just realized my ZZ plant has been thriving on neglect for months—I water it maybe once every three weeks and it honestly looks better than when I was fussing over it. I'm still figuring out the watering schedule though, because sometimes the soil looks dry but I'm paranoid I'll overwater it. Has anyone else had issues with root rot, or am I just overthinking this? Mine's in a pot with drainage holes so I'm hoping that's enough.
