Notes on my ZZ Plant

I've had my ZZ plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) for about eight months now, and I'm finally seeing new leaflets unfurling—which sounds silly, but I was genuinely worried I'd killed it by watering too much early on. I kept reading "low maintenance" and somehow interpreted that as "neglect it completely," then panicked and overcompensated. Has anyone else struggled with the watering rhythm on these, or is it just me? I'm in a cold climate, so I'm also curious whether dormancy affects how much it actually needs in winter.
